Durch die Wahl des Austragungsortes der Olympischen Winterspiele 2018 rückt Südkorea – das Land der Morgenstille – in den Fokus der Öffentlichkeit.
Der Film gibt einen guten Einblick in die Topografie Südkoreas ebenso wie in die verschiedenen religiösen, sprachlichen, kulturellen und klimatischen Aspekte. Die Hauptstadt Seoul gilt als facettenreiche Weltstadt mit besonderem Flair. Die Geschichte Koreas von der Besiedelung bis zur Teilung des Landes wird im Film beschrieben. Wir erfahren den Aufstieg von einem der ärmsten Länder der Welt zu einem wirtschaftlichen Industriestaat. Südkorea präsentiert sich als zeitgenössische Nation. Die ausgezeichnete Infrastruktur sowie die landschaftlich und kulturell ansprechenden Sehenswürdigkeiten machen Südkorea zu einem lohnenswerten Reiseziel. Die neu errichteten Wettkampfstätten für die Winterspiele 2018 werden gezeigt und der Nutzen für die Bevölkerung geschildert.
Gemeinsam mit dem umfangreichen Begleitmaterial ist die DVD bestens im Unterricht einsetzbar.

Madita is eleven and blind. She does not want to go to a special school but to a regular grammar school. She says she feels "normal" there. Jonathan is eight and has a walking disability. He likes going to the school where he lives. Here, his best friend sits next to him. Max Dimpflmeier, a teacher who is severely deaf, explains that school life is not easy. Quote Max Dimpflmeier: "You don't want to attract attention, you want to avoid saying that it is necessary for you that 70 people adjust to your situation." People on their way to inclusion.
