Der Film stellt praktische Anwendungen etwa in Form einer Dampfmaschine vor. Von der Praxis ausgehend, verdeutlicht der Film die theoretischen Hintergründe und verdeutlicht in anschaulichen Grafiken die Hauptsätze der Thermodynamik.
