Die klassische Physik setzt in ihrer Disziplin Thermodynamik Wärme, Druck und Volumen in Relation. Schon lange nutzen Menschen diesen Zusammenhang, um etwa mit Dampf Turbinen anzutreiben und damit Energie zu gewinnen.
Der Film stellt praktische Anwendungen etwa in Form einer Dampfmaschine vor. Von der Praxis ausgehend, verdeutlicht der Film die theoretischen Hintergründe und verdeutlicht in anschaulichen Grafiken die Hauptsätze der Thermodynamik.
