Ameisen verständigen sich mit einer Antennensprache, legen Duftwege und können sich die Richtung der Sonne merken. Die Waldameisen fressen gerne Raupen, kleine Spinnen, Insekten und Fliegen. Ihre Hauptfeine sind der Specht und der Schmetterling. Wenn sich die Ameisen bedroht fühlen, verspritzen sie Ameisensäure.
