Stechmücken, Schnaken, Gnitzen und 40 Mückenfamilien mehr bevölkern unsere Erde. Während sie uns an einem lauen Sommerabend voraussichtlich nur lästig erscheinen, sind sie seit rund 120 Millionen Jahren ein wichtiger Bestandteil unseres Ökosystems.
Der Film „Mücken – Arten, Entwicklung und Lebensweise“ nimmt die kleinen Insekten unter die Lupe auf. Er stellte Fragen wie: „Sind alle Mücken Blutsauger?“, „Was bedeutet die Metamorphose?“, „Worin unterscheidet sich die holometabole Entwicklung von der Hemimetabolen?“ oder auch „Was sind die Charakteristika verschiedener Mückenarten?“
In Verbindung mit dem umfangreichen Zusatzmaterial (Arbeitsblätter, interaktive Aufgaben, Testfragen, Glossar) lässt sich das Medium hervorragend im Unterricht verwenden.
