Northrine-Westphalia
The Federal States of Germany
North Rhine-Westphalia unites many contrasting mentalities and forms of life and landscape. It is a land of low mountain ranges, lowlands and vibrant metropolises. While it used to be a mining region, the state has undergone a transformation to become a modern technology and service region. The state boasts the tightest research network in Europe and is one of the most important cultural regions of the world. The wide Lower Rhine ... flat Westphalia ... and the low mountains ... open coexistence... Rhenish ease ... and many occasions to celebrate together – all this and much more is North Rhine-Westphalia.
