Heath
Cultural Landscape in Transformation
One of the last big heathland areas in Germany is located west of the Lower Saxon town of Lüneburg – the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve.
200 years ago, large parts of Northern Germany looked like that.
In the Middle Ages, plundering nature contributed to the spread of heathlands. Today they are seriously threatened together with their inhabitants.
But what is the special attraction of this landscape?
Curriculum-centred and oriented towards educational standards
