The common (European) adder is extremely wide-spread across the globe.
Slow Worm
The slow worm is a small, completely harmless lizard, which – contrary to its German name “Blindschleiche”– is perfectly able to see and is often mistaken for a snake because it has no legs and an elongated body. The German name is presumably derived from the Old High German word “Plintslicho”, which means “blinding sneaker”. This probably refers to the pretty, shining skin surface of the slow worm.
First Communion
At Annabelle’s home. She is nine years old and attends the third class. At this age, most children wish to celebrate their First Communion. Together with her mother Alice, Annabelle is preparing the bread dough today because they will discuss an important topic in communion class – the last supper that Jesus celebrated with his disciples.
