Es gibt sie in Kleinstversionen für den Privatgebrauch ebenso wie in großen, 500 kg schweren Versionen für die militärische Nutzung. Die Rede ist von Drohnen, unbemannten, ferngesteuerten Fluggeräten.
Sie dienen in der Kartographie, der Landwirtschaft, kommen beim Film zum Einsatz, werden bereits zur Auslieferung von Lasten eingesetzt und militärisch vor allem zur Aufklärung verwendet.
Der Film stellt die Funktionsweise der Drohnen vor und zeigt die vielfältigen zivilen und militärischen Verwendungsmöglichkeiten dieses Verkehrsmittels der Zukunft.
In Verbindung mit dem umfangreichen Zusatzmaterial (Arbeitsblätter, interaktive Aufgaben, Testfragen, Glossar) lässt sich das Medium hervorragend im Unterricht verwenden.
