Wien war im ausgehenden 18. Jahrhundert die unbestrittene Metropole der europäischen Musik. Angezogen von der großzügigen Förderung vor allem durch Joseph II. fanden Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart und Ludwig van Beethoven ihren Weg an die Donau.
Ihre Werke bestimmen die „Wiener Klassik“. Der Film stellt die drei Komponisten vor und zeigt, welche Instrumente in einem symphonischen Orchester spielen.
In Proben mit einem Schülerorchester tauchen Schüler:innen in die Welt der Musik ein.
In Verbindung mit dem umfangreichen Zusatzmaterial (Arbeitsblätter, interaktive Aufgaben, Testfragen, Glossar) lässt sich das Medium hervorragend im Unterricht verwenden.
